UPDATE ON KEY MILE STONES ACHIEVED:
The YPO Lagos family came together in a magnificent way to help build this field hospital, purchase medical equipment, and recruit and train staff with all necessary amenities, enabling us respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and save lives.
The Centre was conceived, built, and delivered in 21 days and on April 22nd 2020 was handed over to Lagos State Government for integration into their public health response to the pandemic. On the next day, April 23rd, we admitted our first patients and since then have been treating and caring for patients, running 24 hours operations with a dedicated team of 120 clinical and non-clinical staff.
We are proud to report the Centre has already discharged 50 patients to date, including the oldest COVID-19 patient survivor in Nigeria, a 98 year old lady. We are grateful to have contributed to the successful journey of these “COVID-19 survivors” treated at the Eti Osa Isolation Centre.
The Centre will be running for another few months and will continue to give hope, care and treatment to COVID-19 patients, especially now the lockdown is easing and the number of cases are rising.
