OBJECTIVE OF THE PILLAR:

  • Raise seed fund of ZAR10m and further advocate from members and member connections for target raise of ZAR100m.

  • Operate the established NPC InForum Foundation to allocate funding to member led initiatives.

  • Feedback via a Dashboard powered by Proof of Impact (Fleur Heyns) 

CALL TO ACTION:

  • Browse the initiative below and pledge financial or resource support.

  • Fund allocation principals:

    • Option 1 - Funder nominates funds to a specific initiative

    • Option 2 - Funder nominates % to an initiative and the balance to board discretion.

    • Option 3 - Funder nominates the board to apply funds.

TAX BENEFIT: 

  • I.T.O DONATIONS MADE TO InForum Foundation

  • Section 18A(1) of the Income Tax Act (Act 58 of 1962) provides for a deduction of donations in the form of cash or certain types of assets made, inter alia, to Public Benefit Organisations (PBOs) approved under section 30(1), provided that the donor is in possession of a valid receipt and the deduction does not exceed 10% of the donor’s taxable income.

Led by Isak Pretorius, JAMINT prepare care packages containing meals and sanitation products, delivered to communities in need while educating individuals on hygiene practices!

FUNDING FOR VIRTUAL EDUCATION ACCESS FOR ALL

Led by Dominic Oettl this initiative will create desperately needed Open Educational Resources to be distributed in the Cloud and on TV to support virtual schooling in Africa

HUNGER RELIEF FOR THE POOREST COMMUNITIES 

Led by Bashier Adam MealSA is raising funds toward 100 000 bags of mielie meal for vulnerable communities. This to support children who do not have the benefit of the School Nutrition Programme during the lockdown

FUND TO PROTECT AND SAVE 1-2 MILLION PEOPLE

Led by Elisabeth Moreno this initiative will use 3D printing to provide fast, efficient and affordable ways to mass produce facial masks, respirators valves, ventilators, and other equipments to combat the virus spread.

FUNDING TO ENSURE VENTILATORS FOR COVID PATIENTS

Led by Reuben Olifant Africa Breathe ventilators are critical to ensure patient survivability by supporting the respiratory function. Africa Breathe will support manufacturers of ventilators.

FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Led by Marc Lubner this initiative will address food security whilst educating and providing sanitizer, masks and instructions on Covid treatment. In addition we offer Covid screening from mobile clinics at our township sites .

HELD PREVENT GOOD BUSINESSES CLOSING DOWN

Led by Adam Craker COBRA will assist businesses  to restructure their operations, access the extra financing required, and get the breathing space they need from creditors to get their companies back on track.

PROVIDING KENYANS WITH FREE SOAP, HAND WASHING STATIONS AND MASKS

Led by Greg Murray Safe Hands Kenya is a mission-driven alliance of Kenyan organisations deploying free soap, hand-washing stations and masks to Kenyans, and disinfecting public spaces, as a first line of defence against COVID-19.

CLEAN WATER FOR COMMUNITIES IN NEED

Led by Andre Sturmer this initiative will inspect potential sites, drilling boreholes and setting up the infrastructure needed to provide township communities with water!

MINIMIZE THE SPREAD WITHIN COMMUNITIES

Led by Iftikhar Ebrahim this initiative plans to distribute reusable material masks to the general population who cannot afford them. Our goal is distribute 1 million material masks for Africa, we need to get SA safely back to work.

SUPPORTING VULNERABLE ARTISTS SUSTAINABLY

Led by Carl Bates, The Lockdown Collection to provide funds for The President's Solidarity Fund and a Vulnerable Artists Fund we have created. To establish sustainability of the initiative we need funding support.
